CATA Bus Returns To Full-Service Schedule February 15

The Centre Area Transportation Authority (CATA) will return to running its full-service schedule starting Monday, February 15. The increase in services will affect the Blue Loop, Red Link, and Green Link. The White Loop will remain inactive for the time being. There will be no changes to the bus services that operated throughout the fall months. Penn State announces parking adjustments for on-campus move-in

The adjustments will last from Feb. 9-14. All main student residential lots — Lot 22 (Eastview Terrace), Lot 42 (Nittany Apartments), Lot 81 (South/Pollock Halls) and Lot 82 (East Halls) — will be posted No Overnight Parking by University Police. These areas will be designated for unloading only, according to Penn State News. All vehicles in these areas must be removed Monday night. Students with permits must move their vehicles Jordan East or Stadium West during the move-in period. They will be able to begin returning their vehicles to their assigned parking areas Sunday at noon. The following faculty/staff parking areas will be reserved for student arrival unloading only from Tuesday, Feb. 9, through Sunday, Feb. 14:

Penn State to delay full shuttle services till February

Penn State Transportation Services announced Friday the campus shuttle on Beaver Ave. will delay start until Feb. 15 in response to the remote start to the spring semester. According to Penn State Transportation, the campus shuttle on College Ave. has resumed service on its normal schedule, though there will be multiple changes with parking regulations and the CATABus service. Limited parking decks hours are in effect during the remote period, but permit holders may purchase additional evening and weekend permit hours at additional costs. The CATA services will resume to full operation on Feb. 15 with the Blue Loop, Red Link and Green Link. Under the reduced schedule, only the Blue Loop and Red Link will be in operation. According to Penn State Transportation, the White Loop will not be in operation through the spring semester, which was originally suspended for the fall semester.

Penn State Parking, Transit Changes In Effect Through February

These adjustments come following the university’s announcement that the spring semester will begin remotely on January 19 with in-person learning resuming on February 15. The Penn State Transportation Services Office is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Parking Regulations Students who have permits for East, HUB, and Nittany Decks must scan their permit’s barcode at entrance and exit lane machines. Permit holders shouldn’t take a ticket. Faculty and staff won’t have access to parking areas with a Commuter or Evening/Weekend permit. They can visit the Transportation Services Office to purchase an upgrade permit for $27 per month for Commuter permit holders and $31 per month for Evening/Weekend permit holders. The upgrade permit will be valid for East, Eisenhower, or Nittany Deck, depending on which location is selected.
