1/1 A POLICE initiative in Wrexham has resulted in big reductions in crime, it has been revealed. Last September North Wales Police launched Operation Blue Instinct to reduce burglaries in the Offa and Esclusham wards during the autumn and winter months and later rolled it out across the wider Wrexham town area in November. The force has seen a 41 per cent reduction in Offa, 100 per cent reduction in Esclusham and 58 per cent reduction across Wrexham Town compared to last year. The team encouraged residents to make their area a safer place by creating community driven Neighbourhood Watch Schemes. An effective partnership was formed with Offa Community Council which kindly provided funding to buy home security equipment.
