According to CDPHE, toxic algae is present in Barr Lake, Cherry Creek Reservoir, DeWeese Reservoir and Road Canyon Reservoir. Eight other places might have blooms.
Colorado’s lakes serve as a needed respite during sweltering summer days, but as climate warms the state’s lakes are becoming more susceptible to toxic blooms of algae. Colorado Parks and Wildlife officials closed several lakes.
