12:29 a.m. Police investigated a domestic complaint in the 100 block of Cedarwood Street. A written report was issued.
1:08 p.m. A disturbance/disorderly conduct/nuisance was reported in the 500 block of North Prairie Avenue. Police cleared the call.
1:36 p.m. A suspicious circumstance was reported at East 5th Street and North Hampton Street.
3:01 p.m. Police assisted the ambulance in the 900 block of Hengen Street.
3:06 p.m. Police investigated a fraud complaint in the 200 block of Sylvan Street.
3:26 p.m. Theft (includes attempt) was reported in the 1300 block of Johnson Street.
4:40 p.m. A disturbance/disorderly conduct/nuisance was reported in the 400 block of South Prairie Avenue.
MC Youth Foundation grants available
FAIRMONT Grants are now available from the Martin County Youth Foundation. Non-profit groups are eligible for funding that will enrich the lives of our youth. Non-profits providing educational, cultural, recreational, civic or environmental activities that will provide physical, mental and emotional development for youth are encouraged to apply.

FAIRMONT A Fairmont man is facing multiple felony charges in Martin County. Arlie Robert Kelly Pate, 34, has been charged with one count of attempted murder in the second degree. The charge carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison.
Pate is also charged with one count of attempted assault in the first degree, which carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and a $15,000 fine. He is also charged with second-degree arson, which carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine.
Finally, Pate is charged with one count each of making threats of violence and damage to property in the first degree, each of which carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
