Motorists looking to use Interstate 70 finally got some good news at 6:15 p.m. on Monday when the Colorado Department of Transportation reopened the highway through Glenwood Canyon.
The massive mudslide on Sunday was the second over the weekend that caused major travel headaches for motorists.
Eastbound I-70 was opened shortly after 3 p.m.
Cleanup continued on the westbound lanes, and they were cleared for reopening shortly after 6 oâclock.
The slide occurred near the No Name exit 119 at 6:45 p.m. on Sunday, according to CDOT, after a Saturday slide in nearly the same spot that closed I-70 in both directions had been cleaned up.
