MUNCIE, Ind. Sitting outside of Blood-N-Fire Ministries on Madison Street, a brightly colored refrigerator is stocked with plenty of non-perishable food items, available to anyone who might need them.
Like a mini community food pantry, the ReFREEgerator exists to help those in need within the community and combat food insecurity.
The fridge came from the Muncie Youth Leadership Program, a collaboration between Ball State University Teachers College, Muncie Central High School, Burris Laboratory School and Shafer Leadership Academy.
Now wrapping up its second year, the leadership program runs throughout the academic year, challenging its students to find problems in the community that they want to solve.
