San Antonio City Councilman Clayton Perry has been hospitalized with COVID-19 after testing positive for the virus the previous day, his office said Tuesday.
Perry, who represents District 10 on the city’s Northeast Side, has checked into University Hospital as a precaution but it’s not clear whether he’s showing symptoms, spokeswoman Landry Stafford said.
But the councilman was in “high spirits” Tuesday afternoon and is not on oxygen or hooked up to a ventilator to help him breathe, Stafford said. He plans to attend virtual council meetings Wednesday and Thursday, Stafford said.
