While highlighting the role of elected PRIs, the DDC said that the District Development Plan has assumed immense significance after the formulation of District Development Councils, Block Development Councils thereby completing the three tier PRI system to ensure democratic decentralization. He informed that for the first time, proportionate funding to all three tiers of PRIs is being ensured to cater to the development aspirations of the people through DDCs, BDCs and Panchayats.
The DDC urged the BDCs to discuss the plan with DDC members which will help effective need based development in the district besides meeting needs of the people. He added that it will facilitate the members in better planning and implementation of several schemes under the plan.

Jammu Tawi, Apr 05: Aiming 100 % coverage, State Health Agency held 5-day Gaon Gaon Ayushman campaign from April 1 to April 5, 2021. The unique initiative, aimed at to provide Ayushman Cards to every family in the UT of J&K witnessed enthusiastic participation of the people.
The initiative was started in ten blocks of ten districts across the UT of J&K- viz Bala in Doda, Bani in Kathua, Bounjwah in Kishtwar, Balakote in Poonch, Budhal in New Rajouri of Jammu Division, and Achabal in Anantnag, Beerwah in Budgam, Aloosa in Bandipora, Bijhama in Baramulla and Gund in Ganderbal of Kashmir division in the first phase.
