HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES (KABC) Clashes with police and vandalism were reported near a protest in Hollywood on Saturday marking the first anniversary of Breonna Taylor s death.
As many as 200 demonstrators gathered at Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street to call for justice for Taylor, who was fatally shot by police in her Louisville, Kentucky home one year ago, and whose death triggered nationwide protests. Video from the scene showed who police identified as protesters climbing onto a police car and helmeted officers taking up positions near Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street.

In Taylor s hometown of Louisville, there was a massive march.
Taylor was shot and killed by police who entered her apartment with a no-knock warrant.
Her death became central to the racial reckoning last summer with demonstrators demanding racial equality and police accountability. It also renewed conversations about police brutality against Black women who activists say are often overlooked and rarely get justice in their cases.
Police arrested nearly a dozen anti-NYPD protesters and a member of the press was assaulted during a demonstration in Manhattan Friday night, according to the NYPD.
