listen to the charges that have now been filed as we watch now the six students who were arrested yesterday being led out of school. the police superintendent wanted a very strong message sent to the school. all of the kids, you can see them handcuffed there, police lights were flashing, they have been charged with kidnapping, criminal restraint, recklessly dang endangering another person, aggravated assault, con spir areas and listen to other charge, if this doesn t send a strong message, i don t know what will, the other charge, making terroristic threats. all of these kids now in a juvenile detention center. they could spend up to 21 years of age in that type of facility. had they been adult, martha, they could have been spending upwards of 20 years behind bars. martha: yeah. so we re talking about much more than bullying martha: david lee, thank you very much. david lee miller in our newsroom. bill: just getting word the head of fema is going to brief at the white house this af

is it by the blizzard storm coming through? how many homes are at risk? basically, home as long the coast from new hampshire border down to the cape of the islands have had some impact. we had a three to four-foot storm surge with the high tide. fortunately the high tide we have later today, the winds have turn around so it should not be impactful. but literally, dozens of home in most every community up and down the coast have had some sort of impact. 4,000 plows. you also have the national guard assisting you? right. the national guard s been very helpful assisting with the high wheel trucks because a lot of the road as long the coast are under three or four feet of water. anything surprise you? this is your business. you re used to dealing with emergency management. no. i mean this storm basically showed up as planned, as far as dealing with the travel issues, dealing with the power outages and dealing with the coastal
amtrak, limited service. passengers expect delays. trains should be running nornlly between new york and washington, d.c. joined by nbc meteorologist bill karens. the map just doesn t look nice. a lot of people are wondering the historical significance. every snowstorm based on the comparison of the superstorm in march 96. a massive blizzard out there. that storm covered the east coast. this storm didn t do that. it was mostly from virginia beach, ocean city, d.c. didn t get hit, philadelphia. not everyone got nailed by the storms but the people that did are cleaning up about the wind is the big story. a blizzard is three hours of quarter mile of visibility or less and guests over 35 miles an hour and that s what we re looking at with the storm. we re still seeing it out there, too. that s in why it s making things very difficult. as the day goes on today, things will be improving.
