Fairfield absorbs proposed church site into city limits
FAIRFIELD The City Council unanimously approved the annexation of 2.1 acres on the east side of Sunset Avenue, 1.23 acres of which is the site of a proposed 10,342-square-foot church and other improvements.
The Tuesday council meeting was the first of the new year, and the first meeting of council members Doriss Panduro and Scott Tonnesen, who took their oaths of office in December.
The annexation request was on behalf of the Blessed Baptist Church. A public hearing was conducted without comment. A mitigated negative declaration also was approved. There are two family residences on the remaining 0.87 acres, the council was told.
