NEW BRITAIN – This is a community that takes care of its own.
As snowflakes fell in downtown New Britain Sunday, the Daughters of Anna Warmsley Temple #1073 gathered outside the Pride of Conn Elks Lodge 1437 I.B.P.O.E. on Elm Street to pack up Daughter Ruler Pam Marshall-Davis’ vehicle with gifts and goods.
On Monday Marshall-Davis plans on dropping off dozens and dozens of donations at the Prudence Crandall Center, which serves women and children affected by domestic violence.
“I have to do what I have to do as a leader to make sure we give back to the community,” she explained. “People are suffering right now. There’s not much we can do about this pandemic but we can make sure we do something to bring a smile to their faces.”
