WATCH: A visit to the Blasket Island Centre, Dingle Peninsula

The Blasket Centre is a unique heritage centre and museum that tells the story of the Blasket Islands and the tiny Irish-speaking community who lived there until the mid-20th century. The Centre is located in Dunquin, the most westerly parish on the Dingle Peninsula, and is the halfway point of the Slea Head Drive.

November 17 marked the seventieth-anniversary of when the last remaining occupants of the Blasket Islands left to live in the mainland.
