MURCIA’S Blas Canto will soon find out which song he will be performing at the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam, after COVID-19 put paid to the extravaganza last year.
Spain’s national broadcaster, RTVE, will host a special two-hour show this month to choose its entry, but they still have not yet announced the date.
29-year-old Blas will offer up the choice of two numbers, with a contrast between going down the ‘up tempo’ route or something more laid back.

TVE, the Spanish national broadcaster, has confirmed today that it will be holding a special gala in order to determine Blas Cantos’ Eurovsion 2021 entry.
The 2021 Spanish Eurovision entry will be determined via a 100 % public voting deliberation.
TVE is working round the clock in order to showcase an exciting and entertaining song selection show.
Blas Canto and his team have shortlisted a total of two entries along with TVE’s Eurovision team and
Warner Music Spain. Both songs are very different from each another. Blas himself has partaken in the composition of the two potential Spanish Eurovision entries.
Spain’s Song Selection Gala
For those of you scratching your heads, yes: Spain does have a long record of using different methods for Eurovision. RTVE is set to deliver a song selection gala for Blas, just as it did for Pastora Soler (ESC 2012) and El Sueño de Morfeo (ESC 2013). However, this time the audience will have 100% of the vote and there will
not be a jury.
RTVE said: “If we want the people to decide, they will really decide. There won’t be any juries.”
Blas Cantó is all in for this method as he wants to count on Eurofan voices. As Blas says: “I want everyone to come with me, hand in hand, and support each other as in Eurovision we all go together.”
