The idle game developer hopes to spark a broader gaming industry in Estonia Venture Capital fund Play Ventures has announced a $1.2 million Seed Investment into Estonian mobile game developer Clickworks games. The investment also includes participation from angel investor Joakim Achrén, founder of video game development company Elite Game Developers. This development makes Clickworks the first Estonian mobile game studio to ever secure money from investors. Clickworks intends to use this investment to focus on developing more idle games. According to a press release from Play Ventures, idle games accounted for 20% of the Arcade category’s in-app purchases revenue in 2020, despite accounting for only 11% of the category’s annual downloads.
