It s that connection with the heartland of South Sydney that has made this whole saga difficult to grapple with for Rabbitohs fans.
Reynolds, the club captain, made it clear that it was his preference to stay, yet management were unwilling to budge on a one-year deal.
It comes as the North Queensland Cowboys reconsider their pursuit of Reynolds after discovering the veteran halfback has been on restricted training duties since fracturing his vertebrae in 2019.
Reynolds is well looked after by the Bunnies medical staff and rarely misses games, however, the Cowboys are wary of making such a big play for someone with a fitness cloud hanging over his head.
