Police are looking to identify the person seen spray painting a camera that would have captured a fatal crash in Uptown Minneapolis.

MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) - Police are looking to identify the person who spray-painted a city camera that would have caught the crash that killed a protester Sunday night in Uptown Minneapolis.
According to police, at about 8:34 p.m. Sunday, the person in the photograph climbed a pole and spray-painted the city-owned camera in the area of Lake Street West and Girard Avenue South.
Police said this is the camera that would have caught the fatal crash Sunday evening, providing law enforcement and the County Attorney’s Office with evidence in the prosecution of the suspect.

Police in Minneapolis are asking for the public s help to identify a person who painted a city-owned camera near Lake Street West and Girard Avenue South.
According to Minneapolis Police, the suspect climbed a pole and spray-painted the camera at about 8:34 p.m. on Sunday, not long before a crash that killed Deona Knajdek and injured three others.
Had the camera not been spray-painted, it could have offered evidence for prosecutors to use against the driver who hit Knajdek, police said.
Anyone with information that could help officers identify the person who spray-painted the camera is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

OPP stopped a car on Grand Bend Line late that morning to complete an investigative check. While speaking with the vehicle’s occupants, officers observed one of the passengers as being wanted on an outstanding warrant.
Further, as the driver got out of the vehicle some drug paraphernalia was spotted inside. Upon closer examination drug residue was located and the four occupants were placed under arrest and searched.
