St George Dragons forward Paul Vaughan has been sacked for hosting a party attended by 13 other NRL players during Sydney s lockdown.
Multiple sources are reporting a Dragons board meeting has signed off on the decision to sack Vaughan, who is contracted until the end of 2022. His deal for next season alone is reported to be worth more than $800,000.
The 30-year-old hosted the party at his house in Shellharbour, on the NSW South Coast, which has seen those who attended fined $1000 each by NSW police.
The NRL has also fined the players a total of $305,000.
