Spruce Kings inch closer to clinching Chilliwack pod

The Prince George Spruce Kings took nothing for granted in their second to last game of the BCHL Pod season.
The Spruce Kings held a 2-0 edge after the first period before securing the insurance marker in the final frame.
PG outshot Merritt 33-15 overall, including a 25-12 margin over the last 40 minutes.
Jordan Fairlie picked up the easy shutout in goal for the league’s most northern franchise.
The Spruce Kings (13-5-0-1) went 1-for-7 on the power-play while the Centennials were unable to cash in on four opportunities.

After a brief two-game slide, the Prince George Spruce Kings found themselves back in the win column.
First period goals from Linden Makow, Hunor Torszok and Christian Buono paced the BCHL’s most northern franchise to a convincing 5-1 win against the Merritt Centennials inside the Chilliwack Coliseum.
Torzsok recorded a goal and an assist against his old team and asserted his place among banged up forward group.
“I got some opportunities on the power-play and the boys were shooting the puck a lot and I did my job in front of the net and good things happened today.”
Chiefs blank Spruce Kings in first place showdown

Ethan Bowen picked a good time to dethrone the Prince George Spruce Kings.
His two-goal third period performance propelled the Chilliwack Chiefs to a 3-0 victory on Monday.
With the win, the Chiefs leapfrog past PG for top spot inside the Chilliwack pod, holding a one point edge.
After a scoreless first period, Connor Milburn found the back of the cage against Spruce Kings netminder Aaron Trotter to draw the initial marker in the first-place showdown.
The Chiefs went 1-for-5 on the man advantage and outshot PG 26-25.
Fifth-year goaltender Mathieu Caron pitched the shutout for Chilliwack.
