Last week, the First Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that a person who enters into an administrative settlement with a state is immune from citizen suits seeking civil penalties.
NORTH SMITHFIELD – NeighborWorks Blackstone River Valley is seeking a grant of $650,000 that would allow the Woonsocket-based organization to begin cleaning up the historic Andrews Mill on Great Road.

Blackstone Heritage Corridor staff, volunteer fixing up interpretative signs around the valley
Staff and volunteers at the Blackstone River Valley National Heritage Corridor are on a mission to clean the dirt and graffiti off their signs that share the important history of the valley, all as part of a larger project to take inventory of the signs. In anticipation of the organization’s 35th anniversary this year, as part of the project, they’ll determine where existing signs are and whether they should add any new signs.
