The efficiency of the Blackstairs Group Water Treatment Plant was highlighted recently when a cheque for €2,037 was presented to a charity that works with people in Uganda.
The money, which was presented to Aidan Jordan, the Operations Manager with the Wells for Life charity, was the monetary value of energy saved at the EPS operated treatment plant by a Dwr Uisce Renewable Energy Project.
The plant is located at Grange, Rathnure, and is operated by EPS.
The company s Group Energy Manager, Jerome O Sullivan, was delighted to be able to present the cheque to Mr Jordan.
Dwr-Uisce, is a research team composed of members from Trinity College, and Bangor University in Wales, whose focus is on distributing our water resources - utilising integrated, smart and low-carbon energy.
