Five charged as part of feud investigation Four men have been remanded in custody and a woman has been released on bail after they were charged by gardai investigating an incident where a shot was fired during a feud between two families in Cork.
Three members of the Keenan family, Chantelle Keenan (20), Jim Keenan (22) both of Ravensdale Close, Mahon and Michael Keenan (37) of St Michael’s Close, Mahon were all charged when they appeared at Cork District Court.
All three were charged with possession of various offensive weapons at the Mahon Flyover in Mahon in Cork on May 9
th, contrary to Section 9 of the Firearms and Offensive Weapons Act 1990.
A number of incidents in Blackrock at the weekend which included assaults on teenagers, shop lifting in a supermarket and the belting of passing cars with eggs have led to calls for extra gardai for the seaside village.
The mother of a 15-year-old boy who was assaulted as he took a short cut through Blackrock Park at 6.45pm on Saturday night has called for extra patrols in the village.
She said her son is shook up after being jumped upon by a large group of older teenagers. He s got a busted lip and bruises.
Another teenager who was assaulted a short time later ended up going to hospital for head injuries, she stated.
