Attempts by China, Russia to Undermine Britain Risk Igniting War, UK Defence Experts Warn
Action is needed to counter unconvential warfare attacks
If “unconventional warfare” attacks on Britain from hostile adversaries such as China and Russia are not kept in check, this could lead to a conventional war, the head of the UK’s armed forces said.
Chief of the Defence Staff Gen. Nick Carter made the comments in a new Sky News podcast, “Into the Grey Zone,” published on Sunday, describing how there’s a risk a shooting war could be triggered by the “significant amount of activity which is below the threshold of what we would [normally] call war.”
12-Year-Old Girl Accuses TikTok of Illegally Abusing Children’s Data
A 12-year-old girl from London is planning to bring legal action on behalf of all children who are, or were, users of the short video-sharing app TikTok.
According to a judgment (pdf) handed down on Wednesday by judge Justice Warby, the claim alleges that Tik Tok and its “effective predecessor,” Musical.ly, broke EU and UK law when they “misused the claimant’s private information and processed the claimant’s personal data.”
‘Litigation Friend’
The unnamed 12-year-old is being supported by England’s Children’s Minister, Anne Longfield who is acting as a “litigation friend” for the girl.
