The Royal Borough of Greenwich Changes are afoot in Greenwich Council as a new cabinet member is appointed and a new opposition team is unveiled. Greenwich Council have today announced the appointment of Cllr Mariam Lolavar as the new lead for Business and Economic Growth in the borough. The Greenwich Conservatives have also announced changes to the official opposition to the Labour authority, with three new faces in the Shadow Cabinet. All Greenwich residents have been invited to get a Covid-19 test over the next few weeks to help keep the borough safe as restrictions ease. The mass testing programme, which launched on Monday, March 15, will see residents receive a letter from Greenwich Council inviting the entire household to take a rapid coronavirus test at a local testing site. Everyone living in the Royal borough of Greenwich is invited to take a test between now and April 14. Around one in three people with Covid-19 present no symptoms so could be unknowingly spreading the disease, so local health experts say the programme will help find these cases and reduce the spread of the viru, and therefore reduce the risk of further lockdown.
