THAMES VALLEY Police have provided mini police uniforms for children of Blackbird Leys. Writing on their social media, TVP said: “Children’s encounters with the police have a lasting effect on how they view the force and engage with them as adults.” The Blackbird Leys Neighbourhood Team and Thames Valley Violence Reduction Unit secured 40 Mini Police uniforms for children in the area. Mini Police is a national police primary school engagement programme as part of the National Volunteer Police Cadets. The programme si aimed at those age 8-11 year olds.

Two arrested after neighbours report criminals in Oxford POLICE made two drug-related arrests in Oxford after residents suspected of criminal activity on their street. The Blackbird Leys Neighbourhood Team was contacted about wrongdoings on Falcon Close, near the Orion Academy. Officers targeted the area and working with the drugs taskforce made two arrests and seized a large volume of drugs and cash. In a post on Twitter, Thames Valley Police urged people to get in touch if they have suspicions about crime in their area.
