Randy Fernandez appointed to SC4 Board of Trustees

The board made the appointment in a special meeting on Nov. 30. Six community members submitted letters of interest for the position, including Alphonso Amos, chair of Black Lives Matter Port Huron; Fernandez; Michael Goforth, who finished third in the five-person race for two seats on the board in the Nov. 3 election; Bill Gratopp, the former District 7 county commissioner, and Debra McNair, who finished fifth out six candidates for three seats on the board of Port Huron Area School District on Nov. 3. - Advertisement - I applied because I truly care about SC4, said Fernandez via email after his appointment. I did not lobby for the position. I wanted to give back to an institution that has been good to me, my five siblings, my two sons, nieces and nephews who have all attended SC4. I have very, very fond memories of when I went there over 40 years ago.
