Black Lives group calls for oversight commission to review Sheriff’s Office
They contend that presence represents a threat to people of color in Solano County.
Sheriff Thomas Ferrara has been cited in publications that the “3 Percenters” images on personal social media accounts do not equate to his deputies being part of an anti-government movement. However, through a department spokesman, the sheriff declined a request for an interview by the Daily Republic.
A new law gives the Board of Supervisors the authority to appoint the civilian commission.

Board Chairman John Vasquez, who also sits on the county’s equity subcommittee with Supervisor Erin Hannigan, did not return a call seeking comment.
