Outpatient centre will make experience at St Joseph s Hospital better

The outpatient centre is going to be located in what s the current Unit B at St. Joseph s Hospital. It s basically a centralized location for all or at least most of the outpatient services that our hospital is able to offer our community. So some of those services include women s health clinic, endoscopy procedures, stress testing, blood infusions. Basically, everything that would be a day worth of services that people come in and out of our hospital for. We wanted to really just have a proper department that could offer those in an organized manner, explained foundation executive director Breanne Van De Woestyne.

Tower Café and Fired Up Grill win in Tourism Estevan s Pizza Month

Eight restaurants took part in the contest, which garnered 467 votes from 391 people. In addition to trophies, each prize came with $200 to be awarded to a charity of the restaurant s choice. Tower Café has chosen United Way Estevan and the Estevan Public Youth Centre, while Fired Up Grill will donating to the Estevan Family Resource Centre. Jeannette Biberdorf from Frobisher, who ate at Humpty s Restaurant, won a $500 gift card from Shop Estevan. The winner of the prize was randomly chosen from the pool of voters. Other competing restaurants were The Black Grasshopper, Domino’s Pizza, Michael’s Coffee Shop and Bakery, Pinocchio Pizza and Red Swan Pizza.

Time to grab a slice with the first-ever Pizza Month in Estevan

The first event Pizza Month runs all of February, bringing innovative and traditional pizzas to many local restaurants and eateries. Eight unique pizzas, 28 days to try them all. Rebecca Westling, destination marketing and communications consultant for the City of Estevan, said: “Culinary tourism is about the unique, authentic experience of restaurants in our city. We have amazing chefs that create items we all love; now is the time to try something new and show these restaurants our support.” The program kicked off Feb. 1. Participants will purchase a $15 featured item from participating restaurants where they will be given a ballot code to vote for their favourite. There are three categories to choose from: best crust, best overall and most unique.
