‘Black lawyers like me are a painfully small minority’

Segun Osuntokun is the head of a City law firm responsible for 900 employees and £250m of turnover. He has three decades of experience advising banks, private equity funds and blue chip companies. But when he turns up for a meeting, he is still conscious of his race.
“You walk into a meeting room or a negotiating room [and] you’re the only black person in the room – you’re the most senior person in the team,” he says.
