Updated: 11:23 AM EST Feb 28, 2021 A community-led partnership in Boston is working to vaccinate more people of color against the coronavirus.The Black Boston COVID-19 Coalition has partnered with CIC Health to take over operations at the vaccination site inside the Reggie Lewis Center in the city s Roxbury neighborhood.The coalition is hosting a two-day Black History Month vaccination event this weekend in the hopes of changing perceptions of the COVID-19 vaccine in Black and brown communities. We felt it was very important to recruit as many people that looked like and reflect the population that we re serving, said Dr. Ellana Stinson, manager of the medical site. By doing this, I feel like a lot of comments that I ve been hearing are that patients are really excited that they were able to participate in this and have this experience.
