The students were chosen because they demonstrate leadership, improvement, effort and excellence for both their peers and staff, teachers said. Amaya and Aya worked with Principal Nikki Miller, Assistant Principal Tim Slade and teacher Karen Maull to develop a curriculum and set objectives for a cultural studies course, which will be offered beginning in the 2021-22 school year.
