MUST Student Who Graduated With Distinction Dies In Car Accident

Graduated student for the Malawi University of Science and Technology (MUST) who passed with a distinction Isha Senga has died in car accident in Ntcheu, police confirmed. Ntcheu Police spokesperson Hastings Chigalu said Senga aged 26, died Wednesday afternoon after the vehicle she was travelling in overtuned at Biwi are, along Balka Ntcheu M1 road. Tarsizio Nkhoma, 28, was driving a motor vehicle, Toyota Atenza saloon, registration number BY 8379, from the direction of Balaka heading towards Ntcheu with three passengers onboard. Upon arrival at the said place, he failed to negotiate a bend. As a result, he swerved to the extreme nearside dirty verge where it overturned.

Police fires teargas at angry Saint John s Primary school learners

The law enforcers this morning used teargas to disperse Saint John’s Primary school learners who took to the street to protest against the ongoing teachers strike across the country. Teachers across the country want the Tonse Alliance government led by Dr. Lazarus Chakwera to provide them with COVID-19 risk allowances as is the case with doctors and others in the country. The learners invaded the M1 road and they closed the road with tree branches and huge stones, making the road impassable. The development forced law enforcers to intervene by firing teargas at the learners. The teargas also affected learnes from Biwi Community Day Secondary School in Lilongwe.

Caught on stealing spree Malawi Police Service in Lilongwe is on rampage in Lilongwe breaking into shops, bars and even saloons on the pretext of enforcing Covid 19 restrictions and taking away billions of kwacha items as angry owners have promised to personally sue President Lazarus Chakwera, Home Affairs Minister Richard Chimwendo and Inspector General of Police George Kainja. Since the new Covid 19 rules came into force, Malawi Police officers were demanding bribes and asking the bar owners to extend their time from official 8pm while they drunk free beer. Bar owners have refused to break the law and now comply to the 8pm lockdown.
