PALAPYE: In a ground breaking move, the Botswana International University of Science and Technology (BIUST) has unveiled a state-of-the-art drone assembly and testing centre in partnership with the Mileage Group, which was officially launched here this week.
A whistle-blower who had filed a case of corruption and abuse of office against the Vice Chancellor of the Botswana International University of Science and Technology (BIUST), was finally fired from the university's employ after a lengthy disciplinary hearing that took nine months to conclude.
The Botswana Qualifications Authority (BQA), a body which accredits learning programmes locally has sent a stern warning to prospective students not to take some courses at Botswana International University of Science and Technology (BIUST), Botswana University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (BUAN) and New Era College of Art, Science and Technology.
The Botswana International University of Science and Technology (BIUST) Council Board chairperson Dr Seja Maphanyane has confirmed that the BIUST Council did not suspend the University’s Vice Chancellor Prof Otlogetswe Totolo, during the Council’s investigations. The VC was invesitgated for alleged rampant excessive wastage of the University’s financial resources, following a damning whistle-blowing report filed by the now indefinitely suspended Council board member and Union activist Dr Malatsi Galani
According to investigators, there was no leakage of any whistleblowing report to the VC, the complaint was reported and investigated in November of 2022 and the Vice Chancellor cleared of any wrongdoing.
