Town fell to an embarrassing 2-1 defeat to Belgian second division side Royale Union Saint-Gilloise in their final pre-season friendly at Portman Road. The Blues had dominated but only went in front in the 61st minute through Daryl Murphy, but the Belgians hit back with two goals in three minutes on 72 and 75 via Mathias Fixelles and Nicolas Rajsel.
David McGoldrick won and netted a final minute penalty as Town drew 1-1 with Dutch side FC Utrecht in their final pre-season friendly at Portman Road, French striker Sebastien Haller having put the visitors ahead in the 16th minute.
David McGoldrick’s 34th minute penalty saw Town to a final-day 1-0 away win at Derby County. The striker slotted home from the spot after Teddy Bishop had been upended by Richard Keogh.
Jonas Knudsen scored an injury time equaliser, the Danish international’s first goal for the Blues, as Town drew 1-1 at home with Fulham, Moussa Dembele having put the visitors ahead in the 66th minute.
Town have signed 20-year-old Barnsley central midfielder Paul Digby on loan until the end of the season. He has joined the squad for the trip to Burnley but is ineligible for today s game.
