Billerica Ward changes leadership

Last month, the Billerica Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints received the appointment of a new bishop of the congregation.
The church engages a lay clergy, wherein a local priesthood holder is appointed to serve as bishop for a period of typically 3-5 years, with the assistance of two counselors.
Outgoing Bishop Jared R. Koyle, who works as a program manager with the department of defense, had been serving as bishop of the Billerica Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints since January 2016. During his tenure as bishop, Koyle was an active member of multiple local clergy associations and led the ward into more involvement with community affairs, particularly the Billerica Community Pantry.
