Summary
Rev Fr. John Baptist Kikomeko, who was a private secretary to the deceased, said the Bishop was a good time keeper and sometimes he could arrive at venues before the organisers.
Bishop Kaggwa was ordained a priest in Rome on December 12, 1971, at the age of 28. After his doctorate studies, he was appointed vice rector of the Pontifical College of St Paul in Rome.

A somber mood engulfed Bukalasa Minor Seminary cemetery, Kalungu District, Saturday afternoon as mourners gathered to give Bishop Emeritus of Masaka Diocese Bishop John Baptist Kaggwa a befitting send off.
Former Masaka bishop succumbs to Covid-19

Rev Fr Ronald Mayanja, the diocesan communications director, confirmed that Bishop Kaggwa succumbed to Covid -19.
“It’s true the Bishop has gone to be with the Lord; he succumbed to Covid-19, which he has been battling for two months,” Fr Mayanja said in a telephone interview last evening.
Bishop Kaggwa retired in 2018 at the age of 75 and was succeeded by Bishop Severus Jjumba on July 6, 2019.
The deceased bishop will for long be remembered for promoting social-economic development and open remarks on governance and political issues.
In the run up last week’s General Elections, the deceased advised government to consider postponing the polls if aspiring candidates could not hold open air campaigns under the current coronavirus situation .
