The 33-day spiritual preparations for the National Day of Consecration to St. Joseph had begun and will feature daily reflections to deepen the faithful’s understanding and faith to St. Joseph.
Sangguniang Laiko ng Pilipinas said the 33-day spiritual preparation for the National Day of Consecration to St. Joseph aims “to highlight the example of St. Joseph as a model husband to Mary and as a father to Jesus.”
Rouquel Ponte, Sangguniang Laiko ng Pilipinas national president, urged the faithful to help spread devotion to St. Joseph.
“As we observe the 33-day spiritual preparations, may the Lord bless us with the grace to help spread devotion to St. Joseph. May he also serve as an example to all husbands,” Ponte said.

“For a person to be healed, its not enough to have a good doctor and medicine, the person must also desire healing. The person has to believe that he or she will be healed…it is their faith (in God) that gives that,” Archdiocese of Manila Apostolic Administrator Bishop Broderick S. Pabillo said during his homily in a Mass in Manila, Thursday for the World Day of the Sick observance.
“We do not insist that we be healed but we place ourselves in the loving hands of God,” he added.
That’s why, Pabillo said, the faithful especially those taking care of the sick to see to it that they don’t lose faith.
