Pune: Prices of eggs and chicken have dropped by big margins, pertaining to bird flu cases. The poultry industry expects this to be a temporary situation which will stop in a week.
The state has seen deaths of chicken and other birds, samples of which have been sent to the Bhopal-based National Institute of High Security Animal Diseases for screening. In the last one week, wholesale prices of chicken in the city have fallen from Rs 82.48/kg to Rs 58.23/kg yesterday.
