Dukung Ekonomi Biru, Kementerian KP Dorong Riset Olahan Rumput Laut Nirlimbah Komentar: Kompas.com - 24/07/2021, 13:12 WIB Bagikan: KOMPAS.com – Kementerian Kelautan dan Perikanan (Kementerian KP) melalui Badan Riset dan Sumber Daya Manusia Kelautan dan Perikanan (BRSDM) melakukan riset pengolahanrumput laut tanpa limbah. Riset tersebut dilakukan untuk mewujudkan keberlanjutan dan kelestarian lingkungan. Sebab, sebagai salah satu negara eksportir rumputlaut terbesar dunia, Indonesia perlu mengembangkan pengolahan rumput laut untuk menghasilkan nilai tambah. Data pada 2018 menyebutkan, Indonesia menjadi eksportir rumput laut tertinggi dunia, yakni 192,28 ton yang didominasi jenis Eucheuma cottonii. supply share, terutama untuk tujuan ekspor ke China. Pada 2019, jumlahnya meningkat menjadi 209,24 ton. Hal ini menandakan produksi rumput laut di Indonesia bertambah setiap tahunnya.
