Recently, the ministry updated its guidelines and recommended putting sensors at the turbines of wind power farms to better monitor the moves of migratory birds and automatically shut down.
Under a project carried out in cooperation with the United Arab Emirate’s International Fund for Houbara Conservation, the Egyptian Ministry of Environment released 2,000 Houbara bustards into a nature reserve in the Marsa Matrouh governorate as part of efforts to conserve the threatened bird species.
