Leveling up in Biomutant, much like other RPGs, is critical to gaining power, unlocking abilities, and just generally improving your little rodent character. At the start of the game, you’re pretty weak and squishy, but as you fight through the world, uniting or conquering tribes and dealing with various beasts, you’ll start to level up. For those players that want to get to the more powerful abilities, leveling up fast should be a top priority.
How to level up fast
The best way to level up fast in Biomutant is by completing the main quest. It’s really going to be as easy as that. Each quest you complete rewards a nice chunk of XP, which will help you get Upgrade Points for unlocking new abilities. There are also plenty of side quests to keep you busy. While these might not reward as much XP as the main quest, they will certainly all add up. As you’re running to new locations, make sure you’re finishing any side quests on the way.
Biomutant has quite a lot of abilities for players to unlock. There are abilities related to your biogenetics, your psi-powers, resistances, your combat style and even general perks. With so much going on, it can be difficult to know where all these things are, and more importantly, how to actually unlock new abilities.
How to unlock new abilities
There are three main upgrade currencies that are used to unlock abilities and passives from several different areas.
As you progress through Biomutant, defeating enemies and completing missions, you will start to earn various currencies to unlock abilities and perks. Biomutant features an in-depth character creation system, but the truth is you shouldn t worry too much about creating the perfect character. You re not locked out of anything based on your choices, so you can alter your character and your stats in pretty much every way during your playthrough. You can even change your appearance in Biomutant at a couple of specific locations.
Some tedious boss fights
In some ways, the A$99.95 Biomutant
(currently on Amazon for $84.90) is a deeply weird and unique action-RPG. Early on, you encounter a humanoid, ferret-monk talking in a
Star Wars-style alienspeak that’s translated by the game’s English storybook narrator. Later on, the monk named Out-of-Date is dressed like a greaser and humming Elvis-themed pidgin. In other ways, Biomutant is the result of the game industry working away at the open-world whetstone. It s a vast world of action combat, copious loot and locations to discover, mounts to tame and travel upon, and a variety of local gangs to subdue. In terms of mechanics, you’ve experienced something like it if you’ve played an open-world game in the past decade. Given its indie beginnings, however, Biomutant doesn’t quite land near its AAA brethren in every aspect. Still, Biomutant is an intriguing and exciting PC game, despite frustrating combat and poorly explained game mechanics.
