A rising number of lonely deaths, or “Godoksa” in Korean, has been widely considered as a consequence of the country s rapidly aging population. It was often thought that the unattended deaths, which go unnoticed for days, or even months, usually occur among elderly people who had been cut off from their families, relatives and neighbors for a long time. In Korea, however, this trend seems to be more common in younger groups.

 Move to Heaven is based on an essay entitled
Things Left Behind by Kim Sae-byul, who owns a cleaning service called Bio Hazzard which is a âtrauma cleaner.â Trauma cleaners are often contacted for cleaning services in private homes after murders, suicides, or crimes, and also those who pass on from natural causes. The services are also availed of by hoarders with the inability to clean out accumulated items themselves.
