KUALA LUMPUR, April 8 LBS Bina Group Bhd’s (LBS) indirect subsidiary, Leaptec Engineering Sdn Bhd (LESB) has signed a Reclamation and Development Agreement (RDA) with the Melaka government for the reclamation and development of an industrial hub with port facilities in Tanjung Bruas, Melaka Tengah.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, LBS said the approved reclamation area is part of the Melaka Waterfront Economic Zone (M-WEZ) blueprint for the project spanning 10,117 hectares along the coastline of Melaka, providing an effective platform for sustainable business generation and economic transformation for the state.
“The approved reclamation area is intended to be developed into an industrial hub with port facilities which includes logistic and warehouse, manufacturing, Liquified Natural Gas (LNG), port-related business and such other development or economic activities,” it said.
’s indirect 70%-owned subsidiary, Leaptec Engineering Sdn Bhd (LESB) has signed a reclamation and development agreement (RDA) with the Melaka state government.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, LBS said the agreement was for the rights to reclaim and develop an area measuring approximately 1,200 acres located at Tanjung Bruas, Melaka.
The proposed reclaimed land will be part of the Melaka Waterfront Economic Zone (M-WEZ) which spans an area of 25,000 acres located in the coastline of Melaka.
Following the reclamation works, LBS intends to develop an industry hub with port facilities which includes logistic and warehouse, manufacturing, liquefied natural gas (LNG), port related business and such other developments or economic activities on the site.
KUALA LUMPUR (March 1): LBS Bina Group Bhd today announced that Datuk Seri Lim Bock Seng will retire as the company s non-independent non-executive chairman, with the group appointing Tan Sri Lim Hock San to succeed him as the executive chairman.
LBS Bina also announced that its board of directors had unanimously elected Datuk Lim Hock Guan as the new managing director (MD), effective today (March 1). Lim Bock Seng has served as the chairman of LBS Bina since Dec 6, 2001. He has been involved with the company for over 40 years prior to this where the business initially revolved around transportation activities, primarily supplying and transporting building materials like sand and aggregates for construction and infrastructure works before venturing into the construction sector itself, LBS Bina said in a statement.
