Couple held for kidnapping minor boy

Police on Saturday arrested a couple for their alleged involvement in the kidnapping of a minor boy within the limits of the Bin Qasim Town police station.
Police said they had arrested a man, Sameer Gopang, and his wife, Perveen, and recovered a four-year-old boy, Shahbaz, from their custody. Quoting the abducted boy’s father, police explained that the couple had recently started shifted to a rented house in their area and on Friday, they kidnapped the boy when he was playing outside his house and took him away in a rickshaw.

Karachi: The Sindh government’s Home Department and National Engineering Services Pakistan (NESPAK) have signed a memorandum of understanding to establish the province’s first independent forensic science laboratory mainly to get help in resolving the criminal cases.
The ceremony to sign the MoU to establish the Sindh Forensic Science Laboratory was held here at the Chief Minister House. Sindh CM Syed Murad Ali Shah and other senior officials were present on the occasion.
Sindh Chief Secretary Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah informed participants of the ceremony that a 30-acre piece of land had been reserved in Bin Qasim Town of Karachi to build the Forensic Science Laboratory. The total cost of the project is Rs 2.66 billion and in the current financial year Rs 10 million has been reserved for it.

Missing girl found dead in manhole

KARACHI: The body of a 10-year-old missing girl was found in a manhole on Hawkesbay Road on Sunday.
According to police, the girl’s father, Nisar Ahmed, had registered a complaint at the Mauripur Police Station on April 1 that his daughter Habiba had gone on missing while she was playing outside their home in a locality in Mauripur. SHO Saqib Ahmed said police were trying to obtain CCTV footage to ascertain whether her death was the result of an accident or a murder.
