Officials in Nassau and Suffolk warned of high levels of bacteria at several beaches and advised against bathing until an announcement that levels have subsided.
Health officials are advising against swimming at 18 beaches in Nassau and 63 in Suffolk after heavy rainfall that may have caused bacteria levels in the water to become elevated above state quality standards.
