MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCSC) - If plans move forward as scheduled, construction could start on the Billy Swails Boulevard extension in Mount Pleasant next year.
Although designs are not yet complete for the US 17 and Rifle Range Road project, officials say they have an update on a roadway extension.
Project manager Paul Lykins says he hopes to begin Right of Way acquisition in January.
A cross-section to connect US 17 and Rifle Range Road is planned as part of the project, Lykins says. Plans show it consists of a two-lane divided roadway with a landscaped median, turn lanes and bike and pedestrian access.
