Severe weather is set to pass through Mississippi Sunday afternoon into the night, bringing the potential for damaging winds and flash flooding on Mother s Day, forecasters say.  4:30 p.m.: Severe thunderstorm to affect Rankin, Simpson and Hinds counties Meteorologists with the National Weather Service in Jackson were tracking a strong thunderstorm near Florence. The storm will affect parts of southern Rankin, northwestern Simpson and southeastern Hinds counties until 5 p.m., according to a report by the agency.
