Jeff Colemamn During the regular meeting of the Columbus City Council on Monday, Apr. 12, awards were given to citizens who exhibited service above and beyond to help their fellow citizens during Winter Storm Uri the week of Feb. 15. City council also tackled the animal problem in the city with an amendment to an ordinance. Winter Storm Service Awards Mayor Lori An Gobert presented the awards to people who were nominated by citizens for their service to others during the ice storm. Award recipients were: Beth and Billy Herchek, Columbus Community Hospital employees, Grace and Steve McCullough, Jeff Coleman, Michaela Coleman, Tony Kubicek, and Lori Olivarez Ligues. Not present to receive their award were Geraldine Streckful, CJ Cernoch, Korby Halla, and Kyle Huvar. Lana Wied received her award for her efforts with the COVID-19 clinic and vaccination program.
