China s Hubei sees surging foreign trade in Q1 Xinhua 03 May 2021, 22:18 GMT+10 WUHAN, May 3 (Xinhua) Central China s Hubei Province saw robust growth in foreign trade during the first quarter of 2021, as the province consolidated its recovery from setbacks caused by the COVID-19 outbreak last year, according to the local customs authority. The total import and export value reached 117.46 billion yuan (about 18.1 billion U.S. dollars) in the first quarter, up 88.1 percent year on year, data from Wuhan Customs showed. The provincial capital of Wuhan, once hardest hit by COVID-19, saw its foreign trade reach 76.23 billion yuan, accounting for 64.9 percent of the provincial total.
