Ronald “Ron” Lyle Schlag, 71, of Park Rapids died on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at his home. Ron was born June 14, 1949 in Milwaukee, WI to Lyle and Lorene (Altmann) Schlag. In 1951 the family moved to Courtland. After graduation Ron worked in construction as a truck driver. Ron enjoyed flying drones, fishing, watching football and being outdoors. He recently retired. His motto: “LIVE SIMPLY, BE HAPPY.” Ron is survived by his sons, Ben Schlag of Rochester, and Bill Schlag of Park Rapids; and his sister, Lyla Lee of New Ulm. He is preceded in death by his parents. A celebration of life gathering will be scheduled for mid-June in the New Ulm area. Date and arrangements are currently being made.
